This summer we hosted a series of summer events across several venues in Los Angeles, California – the epicenter for high quality cannabis production. In collaboration with some of our favorite partners and sponsors, we created unique, site-specific environments for our guests, where they were able to participate and experience cannabis in new and unexpected ways.
So, get ready for an epic re-cap! Click through the photos below, or visit our Facebook photo albums page to see what we got up to.
1964 Artist Showcase at Mister Green
Our first event was a private party and Artist Showcase in collaboration with Supplied by 1964 and Mister Green, showcasing some of the brilliant illustrations from the 1964 Artist Series. Guests were invited to a late opening of Mister Green Life Store, with a special guest DJ set, drinks, 1964 pre-rolls and a Jungle Alley installation inspired by the Lamb’s Bread illustration by artist Joe Wilson. It was awesome to see some familiar faces, and meet new people.
Friends in High Places Networking Soirée
On Friday night we hosted our ‘Friends in High Places’ networking soirée at The Work Bar. We created a fun, informal environment where people could meet, mingle and learn about cannabis.
Kiskanu created an interactive display with a selection of their products, held consultations, and hosted an oil-blending workshop where guests could create their own blend to take home.
Van der Pop showcased their new SELF skincare range, as well as a selection of some of their signature stash jars and Poppins bags.
Hempsley hosted a Wellness Workshop, and created an interactive display in collaboration with LEVO, teaching people about terpenes and essential oils. They covered the basics of the endo-cannabinoid system and how to access CBD legally and safely while living in prohibition.
Ellipsis Wines kept the bar fully stocked with some delicious rosé and pinot noir, paired with some brand new TSO Sonoma vape pens. Out in the garden, guests were able to try out the latest Fez dry herb vaporizers and sample some of Kiskanu’s own Humboldt grown cannabis. Throughout the night we hosted a raffle to win a selection of great prizes including jewellery from Blunted Objects, Miwak Junior pipes, premium pre-rolls from Biscotti and a Fez vape. The Peculiar Ink was onsite with some custom-made signs, and wrote some gorgeous calligraphy on our limited edition linen stash pouches.
Part of the evening was dedicated to a series of talks. Stylist and creator of Yew Yew, Jenny Wichman, shared her styling and photography tips, and showed some of her favorite shots from her latest lookbook campaign. Andrew Gibbs, founder of The Dieline gave an inspiring talk about the future of cannabis product packaging and showed some examples of his students’ work. Haley Melikian of Fleur de Vie Branding shared her tried and tested methods of determining a brand’s target customer, and took a closer look at the new cannabis consumer. April Pride, founder of Van der Pop enlightened us with her views on cannabis sexual health, and photographer Morgan English shared some tips and tricks for creating a consistent presence on social media.
At the end of the night, guests took home a gift bag filled with goodies from some of our favorite brands, including limited edition Canna Yoga t-shirts, Oh Comely postcards, samples of Kiskanu’s products, lollipops and limited edition prints from Hempsley, pre-rolls from Biscotti, infused lollipops and custom pre-roll cones from Half Lit, Van der Pop’s signature grinder cards, Kikoko teas and loads more!
CCC 2nd Anniversary Dinner
To celebrate our 2nd year anniversary, we hosted a private dinner in collaboration with LEVO, DA LATA, Serra, Ellipsis Wines and The Herbal Chef.
The Herbal Chef’s DTLA venue was the perfect venue for our laid-back party, with a huge outdoor terrace where guests could mingle before dinner, enjoy some DA LATA cannabis pre-rolls and sip rosé from Ellipsis Wines. Before dinner was served, we invited our guests to play a special dinner party conversation game, created especially for us by our friends at Serra as part of a larger creative collaboration (click here to view the full series). This was a great icebreaker and a chance for guests to interact with each other on a more personal level.
We kept the decor fresh & simple, with a few personal touches (yes those are matchstick napkin rings teehee!) and custom-made place names created by The Peculiar Ink. Dinner was a family style selection of summer dishes created by The Herbal Chef’s culinary team, served with some lightly infused sauces and oils, created using the LEVO Oil machine, and the dessert table was an absolute work of art!
After dinner we treated our guests to a special performance by one of L.A’s very own rising stars, ODDNESSE, and as a big thank you for all the support over the last two years, all our guests were gifted a special Au Box filled with a handpicked selection of some of our favorite products.
CCC x Van der Pop SESSION
On Sunday we hosted SESSION with Van der Pop. The venue was a gorgeous modern penthouse in Hollywood, with a rooftop terrace and a view of the Hollywood sign (personal bucket list item fulfilled!)
On the mezzanine level balcony we had an area dedicated to Hmbldt, where guests could sample the latest dosage pens, (plus their very own pen in the goodie bags).
On the main floor, we had a whole selection of activities to reflect the Van der Pop ‘Powers’. Mondo Meds set up a beautiful station with mini samples, Kiskanu were back with another amazing workshop – this time a smokeable herbs blending area, LA’s own La Vie salon hosted a braid bar, and Nails by Mimi’s manicure station was a real hit. It was also our first time trying Sprig Soda and WOW that stuff is powerful – watch out!
Obviously we had to seize the opportunity and take LOTS of photos on the amazing rooftop terrace, and in front of the Van der Pop photo wall!
Enormous thanks to all of our partners and sponsors, who trusted and believed in our vision (despite most of our correspondence having been conducted via Facetime from overseas!) We are so proud of what we achieved, and overwhelmed by all the incredible support from the cannabis community. Thank you!
